Why should you protect your brand before a problem arises?

IP Scan helps organize what emerges naturally in many companies but is not always consciously protected. In e-commerce, this applies not only to the brand name itself but also to content, designations, sales materials, know-how, technological solutions, and the way resources created internally or by collaborators are used.

Trademark registration, in turn, is the next step when a brand becomes a real business asset and requires formal protection. This means you don't act reactively only when a conflict, copying of designations, or a problem arises during further brand development; instead, you build protection in an organized and conscious way.

Support

At ecommerce.legal, we help you navigate this process from a practical perspective – from initial situation assessment, through IP Scan, to support with trademark registration. Additionally, some of these activities can be significantly cost-reduced thanks to the SME Fund: refunds cover up to EUR 1080 for IP Scan and up to EUR 700 for trademarks and designs. This makes brand protection not only important but also truly accessible.

What do you gain by taking care of brand protection now?

We help you to arrange e-commerce brand protection through an IP Scan and trademark registration. Thanks to funding from the SME Fund, you can carry out some of these activities much cheaper - without postponing the decision to secure your brand for later.

90%

Up to 90% co-financing for IP Scan (€1080)

We provide support throughout the entire process of obtaining funding and implementing the IP Scan service. As part of our commitment, you can receive a refund of up to €1080, which effectively lowers the cost of initiating these activities.

We support you in preparing the application, documentation, and going through the entire process so that trademark protection is not just formal, but genuinely useful for your business. With our support, you can obtain up to 700 EUR in refunds for trademark and design-related costs.

Trademark registration process in Poland (UPRP)

1
Preliminary examination

The first step is to check whether the mark can be registered and whether it does not infringe the prior rights of other entities.

2
Selecting the scope of protection and preparing the application

At this stage, we determine which brand element is to be protected, what type of trademark we are applying for, and we also choose the scope of protection.

3
Submitting an application for registration with the Polish Patent Office

Applications can be submitted online via the ePUAP system or the UPRP platform, or traditionally. The application fee is also paid at this stage.

4
Verification procedure and publication in the UPRP Bulletin

An approved application is published in the Public Information Bulletin (BUP). From that point, third parties have three months to object to the registration.

5
Decision on registration and obtaining a protection certificate

If no objection is filed, the Polish Patent Office issues a decision granting protection. From that moment on, the mark is legally protected.

compliance audit

Check the legal compliance of your e-commerce

Dynamic changes in the law mean that many online stores operate today without full control over legal risk. An audit allows for a preliminary assessment of the most important areas that need to be organised and indicates where to start.

Free audit

Answer a few short questions about your online store. Based on your answers, we will prepare an initial report identifying areas that require attention from the perspective of legal compliance, documentation, and e-commerce processes.
